My dad always says “Just dive in!” Well, I put on my swim shorts and am now writing my first blog. I know I’m technologically “light years” behind, especially for a real estate professional; but better late than never, right? I have been observing from the sidelines long enough and decided it was finally time to take the plunge. I actually got the “nudge” from reading numerous posts, tweets and videos from some amazing people I am following in the realm of Twitter (more on them in future blog posts).
My background is that of a real estate developer, investor, general contractor and broker. I am the state broker of record of Florida and Georgia for a fast-growing, multi-state real estate brokerage firm with a focus on REOs (bank-owned properties), short sales and property valuations (broker price opinions). This is a fast-paced segment of the industry and our agents are having a lot of fun!
This is an exciting time to be smack dab in the middle of the whirlwind real estate world. We are seeing opportunities now that may never come again in our lifetimes. I want to use this blog as a means of sharing all that I am observing, experiencing and doing as a real estate broker managing two states that are experiencing unprecedented changes. I want this blog to be a resource for all real estate professionals and a forum for us to enhance each others’ lives.
There is a very fine line (if there even is a line) between a real estate professional’s work life and personal life. We are not in a 9 to 5 business. Work, play, and life in general are all intermingled for a Realtor. Therefore, one cannot strive to become their professional best without also striving to become their personal best. I want this blog to be a place we can all learn to just become our very best!
I look forward to learning from everyone and ask that you please comment, advise, challenge, and hold me accountable to keep on blogging!
